What can I plant when the broad beans have finished? I'm trying to do crop rotation so guess it ought to be a legume or an 'other' - any ideas, and should I be starting it off in pots already?

What goes in when broad beans come out?

Broad beans are, as I understand it, a legume, so therefore should not be followed with another legume. I think you will find that although crop rotation is an excellent idea in theory it doesn't always work in practice unless you have loads of room and spare beds that you can leave fallow for a while. You always seem to have something to go in that doesn't quite fit in with the plan. Leeks should be ready to go in soon, possibly salad crops that don't take long to mature, maybe brassicas for winter cropping.
