  • Please help a novice....

I am hoping someone out there can advise me on cauliflower and brussel sprouts. I have only started growing veg this year in raised beds and have had a surprisingly good start. However this is all more luck than judgement.
I am really surprised at the size of the leaves which have grown on my cauliflowers and sprouts. Is it normal for these to have extremely large leaves. I do not want all the effort to go into growing leaves but not much veg to grow (although the cauli has started showing lovely white heads in amongst what I can only describe as a forest!!)
Should I just leave the leaves alone or cut some of the larger leaves back ?

Thanks to anyone who can help

Bend the leaves over the curds to keep them white, assuming your caulies are white.
