          Always have a back-up plan!
The proof of the growing is in the eating.
          Leave Rotten Fruit.
          Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potasium - potash.
          Autant de têtes, autant d'avis!!!!!

My tip is as soon as you get a space ready, put stuff in - it really doesn't matter what you plant - my best success has been with putting bedding plants, veg plants and herbs all mixed together in little patches. I now discover there are more scientific terms for this- but to me it is all about putting what you want to grow in your space, rather than the weeds!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

                      On a serious note

If your veg plants are looking a bit sick, give them a asprin...mixed into a watering can of water..

                        Never give up hope.
If it doesn't grow well this year, don't assume it wont grow next year.
Every year is different as the weather will dictate to a great extent if you will have a bumper crop or a washout.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Learn as you go along! If you were learning a new language you wouldn't be fluent in a few months! Read as many books as you can, what are libraries for? There are so many variables in vegetable growing, just hold your nose and jump in!

Oh and come on here and ask questions. No question is ever silly.
