The learning bit is half the fun! You'll be collecting loo roll centres before you know it. Actually, wouldn't be a bad idea to start now - get ahead of the game...

I sow my carrots in pinches... a small pinch of seeds at the required eventual spacing.

I do that too: a small pinch every 2 or 3 inches. Then I thin out the largest one (to eat) and let the others keep growing.

I suppose I am lucky in that I only grow carrots in containers so as yet have not come across any weeds.......touch wood.

You can buy tools which put them in one at a time, they are about 4.99 or you could just thin them out!

I tried seed tapes as my fingers are not so nimble these days. I still had to thin out, the seeds seem to be in little clumps of three along the tape. Presumably to avoid gaps if germination is poor.
