  • North East Facing Bed

Hi everyone, just wanting to pick your brains (again!)

I have a very small back garden which faces north east, I have a raised bed in which I have planted Radish, Beetroot, Spinach and Carrots.

I am brand new to this so have no idea if the soil is any good but I added some manure and compost to it before planting and it seems to look nice enough!

My question is will I have any success growing when my bed faces north east or do I need a new south facing back garden?

manure with carrots is a no-no: you may well get very forked carrots.

north-east isn't ideal, but is probably OK for salads

Thanks for that, will the carrots still be edible or will I have to throw them away if they're forked?

So I shouldn't get my hopes up too much then (apart from the radish!?)

Forked carrots are perfectly edible, probably just more fiddly to prepare/wash

Thanks Sanjo, as long as I can eat them I don't care what they look like!
