  • Why are my courgettes dying?

I had some courgette plants and they just keep dying before they even flower, why could this be and how can i stop it?
My cucumber plants are fine until they start to fruit then the fruit go brown and drop off, what is the cause of this?
    They both had powdery mildew.
Any answer would be gratfully recieved.

Thanks, i was told your not meant to polinate cucumbers because it will make them bitter.

Where are you growing them (greenhouse / outside / in pots / in the ground). Also where do you live?

          Are they getting enough water?
I plant my courgettes on a bed of manure to give some water retention & to enrich the soil.
I give my plants at least half a gallon each a day during dry weather.
My biggest courgette so far 9lb.
          PS my plants are outside.

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.
