Hi
I have started cutting back plants that have stopped fruiting, such as peas & beans, and have cut down the base of the stem, so that there are 1 - 2 inches showing above ground.
My question is this - does it benefit the soil to leave the roots in the ground so that they rot in situ, or should I dig them out an compost them?
Thanks
WBP
