aquadulce broad beans and supermarket marrowfat peas because the kids asked if they could plant them to see what happened

Aquedulce are hardy, and should be fine outside.

Marrowfat? .... hmmmm. They're wrinkled aren't they? (suggesting a summer pea)....err on the side of caution and have some fleece handy.

Hardy varieties are the rounded/smooth peas, eg. Feltham First, which is what I have outside at the mo, and more going in this weekend

i will probably keep the peas in the greenhouse and see what happens as i have plenty of room in there anyway

any suggestions for ovewrwintering chili varieties?

You have to do the overwintering chilli thing! Sow some seeds and put them in the airing cupboard till germinated. Then onto a cool windowsill in a pot.
My grow your own ginger experiment is coming indoors too - both pots are going in the bathroom for the duration of the winter.
Then I have some designs on my early broadies, harvesting my oca, sowing early peas and sweet peas, and generally pushing the boundaries with hardy salads and fleece coverings.
Mind you I am darn sarf - but snow has been known to fall in the not too distant past!

Ooooh yes, I'd like to try that too?

If either of you want some seeds, I have some hungarian hotwax self saved, that I can let you have for an SAE....it'll keep the interest going anyway
