I am in the process of putting my raised beds to bed for the winter, pulling and digging the weeds out then covering the beds with cardboard and manure.
I have cut my pea and bean plants down and left the roots in the ground, but if I get rid of the weeds and grass I will also remove the roots of the peas and beans. Can I be lazy and just cover the weeds with cardboard and manure or should the beds be weed free first?
