I have a separate post asking about making a curtain or windbreak to protect my cherry trees blossom/fruit.
Someone replied about using artichokes, as apparently it grows to 12 feet high.
This got me thinking of what other plant life I could use.
It has to grow fast enough to be about 6 feet high when my cherry blossoms come out.
I was also thinking about bamboo. This would make an ideal and natural (?) curtain.
1/ What species would suit best ? I'm not bothered about it being much taller than 7 or 8 feet.
2/ Will it grow in pots/trough ? I don't want the roots to run riot in my tiny plot.
3/ If I remember right, dosn't it die off - almost completely (like bananas) - at the end of each season,,, or is it evergreen ?
I have never grown or eaten them.
For my purpose I will repeat the above questions
1 & 2 and add, will they grow tall enough in the time that I need ?
any other advice appreciated.
Thanks for reading
