Since the price of a Soil thermometer is like £8 - £10 could i not use something like this

try to get it out of the plastic, stick it into the soil and then match it back up to the plactic to see temp?

Aldi had them for £3.50 only two weeks ago

Sorry Ruud but we are talking nature here not laboratories.

Nature never had a use for a soil thermometer and there really is no need to that exact.
