Cucino are probably best grown indoors (i.e. in a greenhouse) but will also grow outside.
At the mo,they are in a windowsill south facing so are getting loads of light and sun. When they are strong and big enough, I will be growing them in a plastic greenhouse - with or without the door open, depending on the temperature inside. Will they be Ok?

Windowsill, even South facing, is not on a par with a greenhouse I'm afraid. But its better than nothingPutting some tinfoil, or a mirror, on the room-side of the windowsill to reflect light will help.
Fingers crossed I think. It would be better to start a bit later in future years unless you have idea growing conditions (suitable greenhouse, heated, lottery win, that type of thing!). I'm struggling this year because temperatures in my unheated conservatory are well down, as are light levels, and my Tomatoes, Peppers and Melons don't look anything like as vigorous as previous yearsK's Garden blog the story of the creation of our garden

Having said all the above; I have now got cucurbits that have germinated in an unheated greenhouse in the south midlands......new growers have to learn from experience as B&Q aren't going to tell you!
You learn more from your mistakes than from your successes....remember that and you won't be upset as, after all, it was just a trial...

i sowed some cucumber seeds five days ago in the heated prop and they are up and 3inch tall already with large seed leaves. can i leave them in the prop or do i repot them onto a windowsill and see what happens...
the courgettes that i sowed at the same time are not too far behind!!
if only i had read this thread first i would have waited a few weeks...May the road rise to meet you,

I take seeds off the window sill at night, gets a bit chilly with the curtains shut. It is still very early to be sowing cucs. You cant plant them out till the frost has gone, which is mid May here and much later where you are?WPC F Hobbit, Shire police
