Fruit trees

Hi all
I wish to seperate my veg plot by planting a row of fruit trees, my question is can I plant them now, also what sort of spacing apart do they generally need.

If you plan to plant fruit trees adjacent to your vegetable patch you will be introducing two possible difficulties. The first is that you will undoubtedly cause the veg plot to be shaded at some point in the day. The other is that the tree roots will invade your veg plot depriving your veg of moisture and nutrients.

Spacing will depend on the type of trees and the type of rootstock onto which the variety has been grafted.
