Could anyone tell me which of these chillis will cope with being outdoors? Providing we have a long hot summer of course

    Red Devil (Dwarf)
    Cayenne
    Thai Dragon
    Naga
    Scotch Bonnet

I am guessing the Naga will need to be in the GH. Will the rest manage outside?

I don't put any chillies outside but then I'm a bit further north than you. I would guess though that the Thai Dragon, Naga and Scotch bonnets would all be better off inside as they are hot varieties. Not sure about the other 2 though. I'm sure TS has said in the past that she grows chillies outside so it may be worth checking with her.

I always grow my chillis outside and they do well. I have grown many different types - Cayenne would definitely be ok.

I grew the Cayenne outside last year and it was fine.

I grew chilli plants for the first time last year and I put Scotch Bonnets in the greenhouse with Cayenne outside.

If you can keep them sheltered from the wind, and relatively dry if it turns wet, and obviously free of frost, most chillis are surprisingly tough. The thing they hate most is being sat in cold, wet compost. So if you choose the right spot most of em will be okay outside. When your tomatoes start to go over, move them back in the greenhouse.

I usually grow Cayenne successfully outside, but last year was a disaster (cold & wet from July to ...well, last week)

Not funny that last year was a disaster, but your description of the weather really made me laugh!
