blackened leaves on young Tomato plants

Hi

Some of the leaves of our young plants have begun to turn black underneath and to shrivel. I dont think we have been over watering because half of them are ok.

We are wondering if the temperature in our Greenhouse dipped too low at night and shocked them? the ones that have the problem are on the floor and than the more healthy ones up on staging.

Might sound obvious but would the temperature difference cause this problem?

What part of the country are you in ? as some parts are obviously colder than others.

You could try wrapping them in fleece.

Do you have a thermometer? Do you know what the lowest temp was in the greenhouse? I *think* that anything below 10C will cause them to sulk/stop growing for a bit - but that said some other folks in a post I posted about the lowest temps said that theres were ok and have been in colder temps?

Had they been there for a while? Were they hardened off properly before going in there? Is it a proper greenhouse or a blowaway?

the plants have been in a proper greenhouse for a good 2 weeks throughout all the good weather we have had.It just seems weird that it is only a few plants that have been affected.

My tenders are a bit blackened & curly because I had them outside in these gales

The fact that the plants on the floor are affected and not those on the staging points to cold. My greenhouse, in all this sunny weather, has been as low as 1.8 degrees at night in the past week. Warm air rises. (The plants weren't in there at night!)
