  • How am I doing?

Having had some lovely rain, my plants are shooting up faster than a crack whore in a poppy field.
I'm wondering if I need to trim some branches off my tomato plant as its looking a bit bottom heavy - I dont know if that's my imagination.

There's a picture if you scroll down a little bit on my blog. Would appreciate any advice anyone can give.

    Happy gardening!!

          love it!!! giggled out loud.

I'd leave it alone to do it's thing. Msotly americans use a thing like a little metal cage for bush type toms, keep meaning to either make some or try and get hold of some. They provide all round support without having to try tying them in to something while they bush away.

Thanks, I have checked this morning and roots are starting to show onthe bottom of the pot so i might repot today and then just leave it.

What happens to the flowers before they become fruit? Do they shrivel up and drop off? Or do they curl right back? I have tons of flowers but so far they just seem to bloom for a couple of days then close up again and go dry. I've been trying to make sure they don't get too hot and putting them out in the day.

The flowers dry up a bit then drop off. At this stage there's a little match-head sized tomato there. The fun is watching it grow and ripen. Good luck with them!

Why thank you! It doesn't contain a lot of useful information but at least I can compare next year's crops and see how I'm doing in comparison! More updates coming this weekend if my courgettes decide to go crazy and have an orgy.
