  • Warm enough for squash in the blowaway?

I've potted up most of my squash tonight, is it warm enough in my outside plastic greenhouse? I've really no room left inside!

Dunno but that's where mine are along with the courgettes. The squash don't look right happy about it, but unfortunately it's tough as I have enough on with the tomatoes

      Hi,
I'm still a bit of a newbie to this site and definitely a newbie to squash growing. Are squash supposed to be kept very warm then?

I'm growing butternut squash for the first time, and when they got their first proper leaves, I put them into 6" pots and put them outside with the marrow and courgettes, (which I've grown before) under a micromesh cloche.

They've been outside 2 weeks now and seem to be growing OK, although not as fast as the marrow and courgettes.

      Endless wonder.

I think you'll be ok JB, especially now we're enjoying a bit warmer weather. Make sure it's zipped up at night though.

Mine are going out beginning of June. Basically when you're clear of frost risk. I might risk the courgies a bit earlier with a cloche or summat on top.
