  • strawberry plant runners

    Hi

I bought a couple of strawberry plants in Morrison's this morning, the reason being they had 2 runners on each.

Can I plant those runners up now? will they fruit this year? or is it too late for the runners to produce? Should I just leave them and pot the main plant normally?

Any help would be great. Thanks

My plants are coming to fruit and now starting to throw runners. I will be pegging them into individual pots and growing them on this year for substituting with my 3 year old plants which will now need to be replaced at the end of the season.

No fruit this year I am afraid.......

      Loving my allotment!

Thank you so much for the help. I will take a look at the strawberry runner thread I will just pot them and do the runners at the end of the season.

My other strawberry plants are now starting to fruit so i'm looking forward to a bumper crop fingers crossed.

I bought a couple of these today too because they had runners.

The leaves seem darker and thicker than my Cambridge Favourite ones, does anyone know what variety Morrisons sell as they didn't have it written on the labels.
