  • Round courgettes

Hi everyone, I need some advice please.
I bought at a boot sale some round courgete plants (50p) each the lady who sold them to me just said they will grow well, which they are but I know nothing else about them variety/name etc, I have now got two growing very well and many more coming on the plants but I don't know how big they should be before I should pick them , they are quite pale green in colour and about the size of a small orange at the moment.
Any information you can give me will be most welcome.

I would pick at the size they are now. You don't need courgettes tough and marrowy.

Don't turn your back on them, for tomorrow they'll be the size of footballs

If they do get too large - and tough you can use them in curries (or anything really cooked slowly) - they hold their shape well, and make a good potato/parnsip sub in them

I'm growing 2 types of round courgette this year, and the advise I have for the light green one is to pick golf ball sized for eating raw, to tennis ball size for stuffing
