  • Pumpkins and Greens for Fall

This is my first post here about my family's first garden...I'm in the process of what I consider to be a great first effort of growing a garden, and so far, so good. But, I was wondering what the best time to plant pumpkins and greens is for me. I live in West Tennessee, and it's been pretty dang hot for awhile. I don't want to put them in the ground and the wrong time and waste a bunch of effort. Can anyone help me?
Also, I planted some cherry tomato (sweeties) seeds almost 2 weeks ago, and I'm still not seeing any activity. Should I give up on them?

Hi CTate - welcome to the Vine. Could you add your location to your profile please? That way it will show up on your posts and we won't have to keep asking where you are. Just did a quick Google to find out about your climate, and it appears similar to ours in the UK, so you should be able to plant pumpkins now. Are you going to grow from seed, or buy plants? Not sure what exactly you mean by greens - I suspect that you grow different varieties than we do. Cherry tomato (and all other tomatoes) are best sown in small pots of multi-purpose compost indoors where you can keep an eye on them - at a temperature of around 20 degrees they should germinate within a week or so.
