  • Hello newbie here

Hi everyone, been lurking for a while and decided to join in. Although I'm 50 I only started growing my own last year when I was off work with stress. I dug a veggie patch and 1 year later the veggie patch has been extended and a greenhouse added. I believe a greenhouse is compulsory at 50. I've been very lucky so far in that most things I've had a crack at have gone well, but boy is it a steep learning curve. I expect I'll be asking some pretty dumb questions over the coming weeks as I'm a very enthusiastic amateur.

No room for chickens although my 9 year old lad would love them. My kids are finding it amusing that I'm now looking for shading for the greenhouse. "so you want the plants to be hot so you spent a fortune on a greenhouse, now you're going to spend even more money making it cooler. So why did you buy the bloody thing in the first place.". Kids logic, difficult to argue with.
Thank you everyone for your warm welcome.
