I'm looking for some help with my tomatoes. I'm growing them outside, 100 odd plants, behind polythene fencing to keep the wind off. Up until a week ago everything looked good, a decent amount of green fruit was developing. However last week I noticed the plants were covered in black spots, leaves and stems. I cut a lot of the foliage and took some fruit to try and ripen at home.
This week they are looking no better. A lot of the fruit on the plants are ripening with bruised looking skin. Any that are turning colour are also looking crusty. We've had some cold weather (Cornwall) the last week, not sure if it is that or the blight that is damaging the fruit.
What should I do? Will things just get worse? Should I harvest what is there and try and ripen in a polytunnel?
Any help appreciated.
