Just got home to check on the boys (or girls, it's too early to tell), and they're coming on great guns! Even been joined by another.
Also, my sprouts have started to come up - exciting times!!! I've got about 5 little baby sproutlings poking through.
Can't wait for the rest to appear.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

I've saved a load of vending machine cups from work which I'm planning to turn into little plant pots (after making drainage holes in the bottom).A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

Hi there Haywayne, congrats on becoming a 'dad', we all know how exciting it is when the seedlings show their heads.
Derek and I became Grandparents again back in Feb when aprox 300 Musselburgh leeklings, aprox 50 Unwin Exhibition Onions and about 30 Ailsa Craig onions showed their tiny heads. All doing very nicely too.
This w/e we will be planting out our maincrop potatoes (Maris Piper) to join our early spuds, Maris Bard and Int Kidney.
Then over the next few weeks we will be starting to sow peas, runner beans, broad beans and various cabbages, caulis, carrots etc.Vron, Tara & Harley. (The black beastie)

They grow up far too quickly! Yesterday morning I checked the propagator and nothing showing their heads. Due to various commitments etc. it was 8 pm before I looked again - the Cosmos were about 2" high!~

Hello Heywayne, thanks for the pics. How many courgettes are you growing ? I reckon you need one plant for each person in the house to give you all the courgettes you would ever want to eat.
Well done Bren, I'm still waiting to see a parsnip pop up. They're always at the coo's tail.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

i got 2 parsnips germinated, at last they took 14 days. They are on the window sill of a unheated room, i think the sun of the last few days has got them going. Time to sow more!Denise xox
