hi do any of you know of a free planner/diary to download for pc ?
how do you keep a log of your yearly plantings etc

I have devised a term time planner; which splits the year into 7 half terms and the summer - with growing/harvesting/tasks to do in each of those 7 periods. It's on pdf and can be printed, or on word and can be completed and saved onto your computer.

If you are interested, I can download it to google docs and share it.

I personally use a loose leaf lever arch binder as I like to browse in the winter months. Mine goes back years which makes it very interesting reading what I've said about weather at planting times etc. In the december issue of GYO, there's a Wallplanner for 2012 which could very easily be converted to a spreadsheet. the dates are no good for me in the frozen north anyway but it is good idea for those dan sath

i like the idea of browsing through past years of growing. AP, have you ever come across a planting guide geared more towards northern climates?

I keep meaning to write one for the iPad though never seem to get round to starting it! Maybe this year I'll be able to do it along with my allotment. Hmm!

You might be interested in Wunderlist... for use on PC, Mac, iPad, Android or Apple 'phone or via web. You can create several lists (e.g. for each year) and keep extensive notes for each entry... so could have an entry for tomatoes and keep a track of progress under the notes section for that entry.

It's really for use as a task list but I update mine every morning on my PC & synch with my Andriod phone so it's always with me and can be updated anywhere.

Best of its features is it just shows you today's tasks on your 'phone main screen, so doesn't matter how long your list is, it provides focus. And it's free!!!

I use a Suttons one but it's only free for two months. But you could try it, print it and just not use it again!
