I planted some mizuna seeds 4 days ago and they've come up really quick but I'm wondering if they are a bit leggy. Never grown it before so don't know if it's normal or not. They are on my window sill and were started off inside a white plastic carrier bag. Anybody else grown this at this time of the year?

My mizuna self seeds so have them growing all over the allotment, even through the winter, though growth is slow. I guess they'll romp away as it gets warmer, I would plant them out under cover ASAP if I were you. You can always start a few more if they succumb to frosts.Death to all slugs!

I planted some more indoors a week ago and they are looking a lot better than the first time. I've planted another lot for a continuation of supply. Should they be pricked out and planted as single seedlings or can they be planted in small clumps. There is a possibility of a little snow here tomorrow so won't be planting them out just yet. Might just plant them into some troughs in the garden as our lottie site is a bit exposed.

I grew a row outside last year and they were great in my packed-lunch salad boxes and also in stir fries. I've put a few seeds in a pot in the kitchen window last week, to use as cut and come again salad and they were through in a couple of days. As soon as the weather starts to pick up here I'll be growing some outside again as they are very quick to grow.

Hi donnakebab
I planted this Mizuna about 4 weeks ago on a very sheltered outdoor windowsill.
As you see it's more than ready for cropping. I'll carry on now sowing a pinch every 2/3 weeks. It's wonderful in a mixed leaf salad.
I'll also mix mizuna with other leaves & grow in a window box as the weather warms up.
