Are they very young?
Mine are 3-5 years old now and crop really well. The 1-2 year olds, less so.
They like lots of water, so mulch them well.
how to prune

If you are moving them and want fruit this year, dig them up, prune off the old dead canes from last year and plant them as ' long canes'. Don't prune the the growing canes.Stake them after planting to prevent wind rock, mulch around them and you should get a decent crop of rasps this year.My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

I was in the same predicament as you, Jackie...not knowing when/how to prune. Took the advice of a grape and did a sort of 50/50 thing...half of them will have been treated right
Also, I didn't get great fruit from mine last year, but I'll admit they usually get quite neglected by me...as they seem to do OK and grow without much help, I tend to leave them to it. This year, however, I've treated them to some manure and mulched them well with newspaper. When I clean out the chooks, the straw will go on top. Fingers crossed it will pay off.the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
