Hello all.

Bit of advice needed.

Would like to start growing soon. I am about to sow (indoors) peas, french runners, pumpkin and lettuce then plant out when the weather warms up a little. Is this right? waiting for the weather to warm and from module to raised bed?

When the weather gets a little warmer (mid-end of march) I would like to plant straight into the raised bed, onions, carrots and garlic. Hope what I am saying is right if not please let me know.

I mentioned on your introductory thread, that French beans, runner beans and pumpkins are tender plants: they cannot tolerate any frost whatsoever and don't like the cold either.

They can't go outside until after your last frost date, so you sow (plant the seed) about a fortnight before then.

You need to get your garlic in ASAP.

I sew my pumpkin and squash seeds at the end of April. They come up really fast and I keep potting them up so that they are good strong plants by the they time they go outside about the beginning of June.

I'm still sitting on my hands here until mid-April to sow as Two Sheds says when there is less chance of frost.
