  • What is everyone doing outside now?

    Hi all.

As I am new to this, what are people doing in their gardens/lotments now? (what are you sowing, planting out, turning over etc. Just so I have an idea that I am on some sort of correct path to growing!!

    Thanks for the help.

I gathered lots of leaves from under a rail bridge this morning...all good for the compost heap.

I have a "to do" list but haven't gotten around to much yet! Must plant tomatoes, chillies and tomatillos soon, plus some beans to test my bags of manure for aminopyralid (being ultra careful this year as I need to put some directly onto some raised beds). Need to tidy garage out so as to find most of what I need to do this! Am also in the middle of sorting out some new raised beds and open bottomed containers so that when I hammer supports and my decorative fencing into my clay garden it doesn't bounce back off solid dried out clay!

Had every good intention of cleaning the outside greenhouse glass, but the good British weather
had other idea's never lets us down does it

It snowed here today! Heavily for an hour! So nothing today but I do need to dig over my potato bed. plant out more broad beans and start off some things inside like tomato's.

I hope later on this afternoon to be sowing some more seeds if it stays bright and sunny. I did loads on Saturday (as others have said, check out the What I did today thread).

If I were outside I'd be getting soaking wet, that's for sure!

So I sowed some cabbages in trays in the dry of the greenhouse - I'll stand them outside once the deluge stops
