Should I give the peas a start in the propagator or sow them direct?

Peas don't need the heat: just chitted indoors in plastic tub is fine. If you don't have plastic tubs (I save hummous & takeaway tubs myself) you can just use a saucer/dish and put a wad of damp kitchen towel over the seeds

Then sow direct once you've composted the duff ones

I could have done with somebody who knew what i was planting last year. My first year of growing veg came home one day to find everything in a pile (Yorkshire winds can get strong) I then made a mistake of trying to grow in containers so my mix of stuff drowned

You should check out this months Gardeners World mag..it has a big section on square foot/small space gardening. I found it really useful as Im going to be growing in small raised beds and containers this year.

I've got a space similar to yours Albanach
I have loads of seedlings etc growing in the house and the blowaway getting ready and have been reading up on square foot gardening and trying to plan my little space as best as i can to get the most out of it and am finding the block planting idea the best way to go for me!
Once my plan is ready i'll stick up a photo
Oh this is my first plot as well after years of container growing!
