  • Different types of soil?

Okay..rather than posting under all the different areas on the forum I thought best do it in one go here..

My question is...is there a certain soil that I should buy to get best results for the following (I will need to buy the soil as I have a tarmac garden so all my plants and veg will be in containers, pots etc):

    Jasmine
    Honeysuckle
    Pieris Flaming Silver 'Lily-of-the-valley
    A variety of grasses
    Salad leaves
    Tomatoes
Herbs (Parsley, Mint, Chives, Basil (optimist that I am!! lol) and Rosemary)
    Edible peas

I thought I'd better ask because I know when it comes to buying the soil I will end up stood looking at about 6 million different types and scratching my head , probably only to buy 16 different types of which I will only need one and then the OH will be grumpy because I've wasted loads of money...yadda yadda yadda

    Thanks guys

Multipurpose compost will do. The Pieris needs ericaceous compost.

But some multipurpose compost to start off your seeds with.

Join freecycle and either put a 'wanted' out or keep asking for any topsoil if people advertise it. Put this in the pots once the seedlings are ready to go out.
