  • De-shooting bolting rocket

    Just a thought.
Would taking out the flowering shoot of just bolted plants such as rocket allow them to continue to grow leaves or will they just grow a new flower spike?

I've found that by the time they are producing flower spikes they're a bit woody. Better to sow some fresh seeds.

I pick the leaves individually and leave some of the flowers to selfseed.

        they'll grow new ones.
Do as vc suggests and either let them self seed, or do as rl suggests and sow some more

Cheers for those replies. It all adds to my firsy year knowledge.
Already sowed a second batch a fortnight ago and also last week but its been so cold they are tiny and I was trying to stretch my existing supply and trying to learn at the same time. I'll let the first tray self seed. Might try and squeeze a space in the GH to force the other sowings along a litttle. I get v. little light in my yard and the GH is in the best spot.
