Dying cucs

Spoke to my fav nursery owner about my dying cucs. A similar pattern across Lancashire apparantly. Too cold even in heated greenhouses and not enough light in our area. He suggested starting again from seed as he hasnt been able to raise healthy eough seedlings to sell. He also had -3 in his tunnels last night. Said don't plant out anything tender until the end of May at the very earliest!! Thought I would share.

One just planted my cucumbers today indoors in a heated propagator. Hopefully Spring might have arrived by the time they poke through. Everything in the (unheated ) greenhouse is just sitting. We had a warmish day on Monday last week and when I got home from work could see the tomatoes had grown from Sunday. Since then they have just sat.

Struggling with mine this year too. Just replanted yesterday- fingers crossed for some sunshine!

I haven't sown mine yet. Only just getting started on the bean sowing, which are usually well away and being hardened off by now. Hope the autumn frosts are as late arriving as these spring ones are at going away!

everything seems to be on a go slow this year,but as soon as the sun comes out things will rocket away,my cues have not grown in weeks,so it seems,will pot into a bigger pot today as they looking a little yellow,that reminds me,must sow my bean seeds today,sooo i is gona be a busy bee,shortly,

My cuce seeds came up a couple of days ago and the squash seeds came through yesterday. They are on a window sill that looks through to the conservatory as it gets cold in there at night but all my other seedlings are in there.

Mine are sat on the windows sill in the kitchen. I have three babies I think, at varying stages of infancy. They look very delicate, so I'm feeling a bit precious about when they will go to the lotment. They are outdoor marketmore ones. Just need the sun to come back and for the babies to become a bit robust.

I sowed mine one evening last week and they've just come through. Will probably plant out in about a month's time the way things are going.

I'm growing a goodly crop of green algae, with the gloomy dark grey skies we've had since summer (March) ~ nowt else is doing very much at all

On a plus point, my brassicas are coming through nicely in the cold greenhouse without worry about them growing too fast and having to go out and risk the birdies / flutterbies

I've had mine in an unheated greenhouse with a gravel tray underneath and a lid over the top. Lid comes off by day, back on at tea time.

Mine are still sat on the bed room window sill. I think its to cold at night for the GH yet a while.
