I was given some pea plants and planted them in the ground about two weeks ago and then covered with drinks bottles. Now some of them have pods growing and some don't but either way they all have skinny legs and can't hold themselves up. I've got 4 hand shaped branches about 3' high which they can climb up but they just flop on to the ground - is there anything I can do? Was thinking maybe building up soil around the bottom of them for the first 4" or so?

How tall are the plants? I think the drink bottles have made them grow a bit too fast, and obviously inside a pop bottle they have nothing to wrap their tendrils round. -
Robinsons 1 litre bottles so not that big.Comment

If it were me, I'd take the bottles off if you haven't already.
I use sticks and black cotton to protect from the birds.the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Peas do need something to climb, they don't support themselves....Never test the depth of the water with both feet
