What am I doing wrong?

Thanks everyone - I havent pulled the whole lot up - Just one or 2 as I wanted to see what was going on under the surface - I could see that the roots hadnt developed with out pulling them up because as you say you can see the width of the neck with out yanking them up but I got inpatient
I have sown some more already and they've nearly caught up with the first lot...

I had the same problem with the radishes too. But I decided that since they grow so quickly that I'd just wait until the weather warms up and start again!

Thanks for the advice everyone - I'll leave em alone and see what happens
