Hello Madbrad and welcome to the Vine. Yes, I'm sure you could grow your peas or beans on the same net as your sweet peas. Both might suffer a little in quality because of the compromise, but if you're willing to accept that it should be OK.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Hello madbrad- and welcome o the Vine!!
I'd be careful using peas with sweetpeas as it can be very easy to confuse the two pods.
      Beans would be fine though!
      Nice idea

Hello madbrad and welcome to the vine. I was planning to grow sweet peas with my peas as well - think it will look lovely with the pretty flowers.

          Hi Madbrad

I've got my broad beans and peas in the same bed and my sweet peas and eating peas all together. The OH was a bit afraid we'd have trouble telling them apart but I was convinced the pods looked very different when a friend grew both last year. The sweepea pods were all furry and the peas (seeds?) inside looked much smaller. It may have been just the varieties she was using, but I hope not!

They are very different. However, you'll be picking all the sweetpeas in flower won't you - to get a continuous supply! (I missed some last year and I agree, the fluffy sweetpea pods couldn't really be mistaken for edible peas. Anyway, as soon as I spotted a sweetpea pod it came off.)

Have you ever seen a fluffy mangetout? I don't think I'd fall for it.
