  • The Ant Hill Mob has invaded the lawn

    Hi

Over the last few weeks about 10 - 15 ant hills have popped up in the lawn

Little red ants come out when I rake the top of the hills.

Now, I have a couple of youngsters who like playing in the garden and I'd like to 'off' these ants as soon as possible, for the sake of the kids, and the lawn!

If anyone can share any successful methods for dealing with this unwelcome problem, that would be much appreciated!

    Many thanks

Sprinkle a handful of polenta on top of each mound.
Apparently it swells inside them and they sort of explode

I have them too, they really make a mess of the lawn, I have in the past got a small weeding fork and made some holes, then sprinkled ant powder into them.....seems to work

          Lovin' it!

I've just powdered the noses of a few hundred living under my fridge freezer. Lord knows where they came from.

Welcome to the Vine by the way, although I see you've been around since 2009 Ifnfan. Put your location into your profile so we know what the climate's like where you are and stick around, it's fun!
