  • Getting paranoid

I'm hoping that I haven't been too ambitious but I've got loads of seeds to plant direct but am still digging the plot over. If something needs sowing in April am I too late sowing those seeds in the first weeks in May?

You should have no worries Beltane,

things amazingly catch up very quickly, even if sown very late. Some crops may be smaller but that is no great problem (small equals sweet).

If you are concernedsow some crops in pots or modules and plant out as plants when you have cleared the ground.

      Beltane

I'm in the same boat! I have loads of seedlings and small plants, but only one bed dug over partially!

The weather is so strange that I don't think the plants will mind!

Gardening is supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing. I have found lately I have been worrying about where I was going to put this or do I need to sow that????

        Hold on.....slow down says I!!!

I have an allotment to enjoy growing 'stuff' and 'get away from it all and stress out'

"Sod it" says I!!!! Go to the allotment and enjoy yourself.

Leave the stress behind, or give it a good kick up the arse!!!

Alot of my seeds Beltane won't be sown until late May as it is not warm enough here. I always seem to catch up relatively well.

              Pertinent advice: KEEP BREATHING!
              Second pertinent advice: DON'T PANIC!

Last year was our first, and I was delighted to see our lottie neighbour sowing all kinds of seeds at the beginning of June, July and august! It all comes out in the wash and it's quite hard o get it really wrong. Each mistake is for learning from.

Seedlings will actually grow in quite small patches in between the grass (believe me, that's what ours did last year.

              Enjoy yourself and keep breathing
