Hi,
Second time poster (first was on an account I created with the wrong name ), long time lurker.
While I was reading the forums I stumbled upon various posts mentioning flower buckets. The general consensus was you could get them from Morrisons 8+ for 99p or local florists
I asked a few local florists on Saturday, presuming they would have a lot of spare buckets due to Mothers day. However I was told they no longer sold/gaveway the buckets as the supplier requested they are returned and must match the numbers they supplied.
Next stop was my local Morrisons (Buxton, its fairly small but decent size) yesterday and I was told the same story.
All my local supermarkets are fairly small and the larger ones are about 45 minutes away. There are a fairly large number of florists, but again they are all small ones.
Is there a knack to finding a store which sells them?
If anyone knows of any florists or supermarkets which do sell the flower buckets near Leek, Buxton or Ashbourne (I live in the middle about equal distance from them all) I would love it if they could PM me.
Alternatively are there any other cheap container sources I can be on the look out for?
I've got some pallet wood troughs, but they are too heavy to move once loaded and wet. So ideally no more then about 2 or 3 foot wide.
For anyone wondering why I'm looking for containers; we 8 chickens which ravage the garden and only a non-heated greenhouse (looking at getting another) and hanging baskets which is growable. I'm looking at creating a chicken free zone (will take a while as its has to be able to cope with 40mph+ winds) for more veg so want something moveable. At the same time large enough for the likes of dwarf broad beans, carrots, chilis, etc.
Thanks in advance,
Joe
Ps sorry for the ton of text for such a simple question I got a little carried away and didn't want to miss out anything which might be important.
