I was just reading about heated propergation. I didn't have much money to spare this year so I brought some black plastic trays for the seedlings. then the cover was cling film held up by 3-4 inch plastic strips almost like a tent. they are indoors on the window sill of an unused room so I can control the temperature of the heating and they get the sun on them most of the day.... this is my make ' heated proper gator' and no worries about the British weather.... worked for me

yep, it's what I use on my bedroom windowsill ... then there are 2 heated props in the kitchen (cooler, shadier) and the living room 8ft windowsill is full of germinated seedlings

I found the large domed chocolate fudge cake packaging works great too. They are about a foot in diameter and have a clear plastic top.
I think its sainsburys which sell them, worth holding on to if you like chocolate fudge cake.
