GMO Seeds banned in the UK?

Evening all,

Was planting some seeds today and I was just wondering if GM seeds are sold here and if so if this is mentioned on the seed packet?

I would like to grow stuff and save the seeds to use and I would hate to find they were GM and the seeds are naff! I've been following the news about coorperations such as Monsanto in the USA and am becoming more determined to learn to save my own seed for some independency.
