It's just occured to me that I have a problem!

I have set up 3 raised beds, 1 for beans etc, 1 for toms etc and 1 for roots, my brassicas are going down the garden.

My problem is that I only have one patch of ground to use for brassicas, so does that mean I can only grow them once every 4yrs!

I thought it was 3 years
you could try diging it over and putting compost in
I dont know its our first year but i would try it

If it were me, I'd have Bed 1 for Beans, followed by (Bed 2) Brassicas, then Bed 3 Roots. Tomatoes can slot in wherever. Depends what you prefer eating really.

I didn't think I could grow Brassicas in raised beds, I thought they needed firm ground? that's why I'm shoving them in a patch down the garden, trouble is it's the only bit of spare ground, so can I plant them year on year or will that knacker the soil! I can rotate all my other bits, it's just the Brassicas that have stumped me!

If you grow brassicas in the same place every year your crop will deteriorate each year, they will become starved of nutrients each year, there could be a build up of soil pests and diseases pertinent to brassicas. Your soil will become sick! You really don't want to risk clubroot, cabbage root fly or any of the other nasties that attack brassicas.
Out of all the crops that benefit from rotating, brassicas come top of the list!
You could probably get away with not rotating some of the other crops onions, leeks etc but to grow brassicas in the same place each year would be folly!
