Do Rabbits Eat the Tops of Parsnips ?

Well yes Frank, but I'm not hopeful...
Every year I intend to grow parsnips - cos I like them, but organic ones are hard to get sometimes - and (almost) every year I fail to get round to germinating them. This year I was going to germinate seeds in damp kitchen towel, and then plant them out. But I don't know yet what is happening with my allotment, since the shop it is attached to has been sold, so I thought I might stick them in my tattie patch up near the village.
Said tattie plot has rabbits, and no fencing. (Actually, no tatties as yet, but that's another story.)
Hence my question. Are you about to tell me that I have missed the boat for planting the seeds out ?There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.
Head-hunted member of the Nutter's Club - can I get my cranium back please ?

shrews eat the bottoms as well as humans!
Mothawk, that jiving banana with the sign is doing my head in. If I had a gun, I'd be doing some serious target practice..!
AP, thank you for the encouragement. It is nice to know that there are still some serious, knowledgeable gardeners out there on the Vine - even if it is only you and Roitelet !There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.
