  • Baby bath water

    Hi everyone,

I'm on a water meter in my new house, I'm going to get a water butt for the garden but do you think my sons bath water would be ok for watering?

He's 10mnths old so not particularly grotty, I don't put any 'smellies' in his bath just abit of baby shampoo to wash his hair

    Thank x

In Australia all "grey" water is re-used on the gardens (no garden watering allowed during water restrictions) including from the washing machine. If laundry detergent can go on plants, a bit of baby shampoo will be fine. if you're really worried just avoid using it on plants where you eat the foliage (lettuces etc) and use it instead on veg you wash/peel.

      Yep, I agree with that.
All our bath water goes onto the garden (we siphon it off), but to be properly H&S, you don't want dirty water (bottom germs, faecal matter) to directly go onto the food you put in your mouth

If its jhonsons baby shampoo we use it to dissolve plant hormones in the microwave before spraying plant leaves , so its fine on leaves as well no need to be carefull with it
