No roots vc it's the lemon balm I posted about yesterday I watched a video on YouTube by huws nursery to see how to take cuttings from it

They didn't show them looking so sad lol

Think about the poor little cuttings. They have no roots to take up water, so all they can draw up is through their cut off stem. If it was a hardwood cutting of a fruit bush say, the cutting would be rigid enough to stand up anyway.
I would have put them in a glass of water and let them root there. then, planted them out.

How have you done it? Cut them, then stuck them in the garden?

Are they in the shade? Do they have a cloche to keep the moisture in?

I cut them, removed the lower two leaves and planted them in compost in pots and watered (I did 4 in total)

They're in the garage on the windowsill, I didn't cover them? Should I run out and do it?

They need to be covered with a plastic cloche (cut off pop bottle, or a bag suspended on twigs), and they need to be in a shady spot.
Otherwise, the leaves remove water from the plant faster than the roots can take it up

Try giving them a quick mist of water ,

A good way to root cuttings is to cover them up with a plastic bag, or root them in a lemonate bottle, but when covered with anything, to prevent mold ,open it up every day and allow the leaves to dry off , then mist the leaves with water and leave it wet and recover, if you keep it damp it will pick up rapidly and stop wilting

Professional growers keep the leaves damp with an automatic misting system ,as soon as they dry mist them again , it needs to dry every now and then to prevent the mould

But... i have just rooted a load of sage, lemon balm and mint in water and they rooted fine,
I did a load more just by sticking loads of them into a morrisons flower bucket of compost under the hedge and almost every plant pot has a few bits of peppermint as well, not covered , they wilted during the day for 2 weeks and this week they are now growing fine, no covering or msting during rooting.

I have no idea how to start a new thread so I'm afraid I've invaded this one!

I have livingstone daisy seedlings outside after having had them on a windowsill for a few weeks. They look fairly healthy but just aren't growing, most have still just their seed leaves, nothing else. I am in Scotland but the weather has been great so I don't think it's lack of sunshine! I always do livingstone daisies but don't know what's happened this year?? Any help please ??

P.s any idea about starting new thread would also be greatly appreciated!

If you're using the app, go to forum, then choose the category you want to post in I.e 'on the plot' then the sub category you want your post to appear in I.e 'new shoots' then click the button in the top right hand corner and select new topic

You've grown them before, but just to reiterate: "Place on a windowsill. Maintain 15-18°C ...When large enough to handle, ... put outside on sunny days for 2 weeks. Bring in at night."

I should think it's just too cold for them, being from South Africa
