Please can someone tell me if this is comfrey. If not what is it? To keep or not to keep? It's in between two rows of my very sad looking raspberry canes with a few baby plants around.
Thank you
Looks like comfrey leaves. Are those white flowers or seed heads? I can't tell from the photo! There is a white flowered comfrey that I have - the bees love it!

Yep they are white flowers that have mostly died off
You want to cut the flowers off really, so that it doesn't seed itself everywhere. Where it does manage to seed itself, it'll be a devil of a job to dig out if you let it get established.
Bocking 14 is the variety usually recommended ~ because it's sterile, it doesn't spread itself all over the place

I'm still not 100% sure about what I've got. It has flowered this year, but not a tall stem like purple comfrey and you photo VC. The whole plant has spread, but is less than a foot high overall, and I know common comfrey grows 2 - 3 feet high.
It spreads fast. The little piece of rooted stem I liberated from the hedge last spring is now a two foot square patch. Time for a firm haircut and compost heap top up, methinks!
