Can anyone tell me what this tree is? I walk past it every day on my way to the hospital, at first I didnt like it as it was messy but its really grown on me and I want one now xxx

Have to agree, looks very much like a willow to me as well. If I'm not mistaken it's an 'Osier', it can be distinguished from other willows by its long slender leaves and short catkins.

If you really want one of them take a couple of cuttings - they will root in water.

Could be Salix alba - White Willow.

how do I take a cutting, where would I take it from and what do I do with it. I love weeping willows but for some reason I thought they had to be next to water????

I would love one of these can anyone explain to me where to start on taking a cutting x

Willows are ridiculously easy to root. Just cut off a couple of branch tips (about a foot long) and stick them in a glass or bucket of water until they produce roots. Then plant one wherever you want your tree to be.
