I've had my strawberry plant for 2 years, 1st year only got about half a dozen berries, this year I had quite a lot - Mine is in a hanging basket and I actually left it out all through the winter and this year it grew in abundance. Last year I ignored the runners but this year I've planted the runners and now have 6 brand new plants flourishing although I know I won't get fruit from them this year...... I will however keep them inside this winter as they won't be as strong as the original plant was last year and I don't want to lose them!
I have one of those greenhouse/shelving units with the plastic zip up cover, will the plants survive the winter in there or should I take them in the garage or house?
I intend of having about 4 hanging baskets next year so don't want to lose any of these and look forward to next years harvest!
