  • propagating cuttings - Which medium has produced your best results?

I find my cutting propagation results are variable and wondered what others experiences have been? We can learn so much from each other.

      LOL!

My best results so far have been with jiffys and root riots

I put cuttings into John Innes seed compost, and enclose in a poly bag. Some things, like roses and other shrubs I just shove into the garden in a shady spot (which is most of my garden anyway LOL).

I'm too rough handed rooting them in water - they root fine, then I damage the roots potting them up and they usually keel over and die.
        Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
        Endless wonder.

John Innes seed compost for me. It depends on what I'm rooting whether I mix in extra sand. Then into an unheated propogator for most things.
