We just got our plot on a new site in October and luckily we managed to get a few beds built over the next month before the worst of the weather and planted some garlic, onions and shallots .. Oh and some leeks too that we're reduced to 50p for a big tray so just thought we'd try them but they don't seem to have done much. Took a walk down with my son (2) yesterday and it poured down!! We got there, it stopped and started again ... He fell into every muddle puddle going, it got us out of the house for abit and had a quick check of the plot as about 9 sheds have been blown down over the last few weeks. Frustrating when you're keen to crack on but I've been busying myself planning out what we're planting and when for the year ahead!

Just down the road from me the waves have created havoc, they removed 4ft of sand off the beach which means the causeway will only cause harm. It dumped a 2 metre shark on a golf course some distance from the sea, and washed sections of the Wales coastal path away.

Its been quite severe this year.

There's an article on the guardian saying the pebbles have been moved at Portland and the beach is very steep now.
