What type of mint is it Kirstie?
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

      Mint from a shop lol
Yeah that's right, I have no fecking clue... On that looks much worse was one I had at mums house that she completely ignored and that was from coop

Think this one was from lidl.

When I'm taking leaves from it for my tea, should I be taking any in particular say from top or bottom to make it do a bit better?

The one mum destroyed not has teeny leaves and is a bit woody

You can split mint plants up and start new ones easily, when it has recovered from its present demise you just tip it out of the pot and either pull junks off that have stem and roots or just cut through the root ball so each half has stems and roots and repot them. All plants need soil (multi purpose compost) Sun, water (not too little and not too much) Most plants kept indoors are killed by over watering, it should be slightly damp but not sodden. After plants have been in a pot for a few months they have used up all the food available to them and need a feed every week or so, Liquid feed (baby bio or tomorite is easiest) just follow the instructions. Eventualy the roots run out of space (pot bound) and you need to either divide them up or pot into a bigger pot. You could soon become an international mint barron.

Those garlic plants look pretty well advanced for the time of year it is, but with GCs, you don't know when they were started off or what conditions they have been kept in I suppose..
The sooner you can move them so that they have more room for themselves, the better...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

            Thanks guys!
So u can't just keep mint small by keeping it in a small pot?
Ooh I have some tomorite, was wondering if I can use it for other things.

Back to the garlic! It's pissing it down, has been all night I nearly went out at 3am to bring them in.
Should I bring them in? They must be drenched

I dont think leaving them alone is an option, if they are to ever form bulbs they need more room, either a much bigger pot or individual pots to allow them to swell. That needs doing soon.

As for the mint, yes if they are under stress they will form smaller leaves, but the bigger lush leaves have all the flavour, outside with em and give them a bigger pot with fresh compost.
